Show Some Love for Karaneko
Developer Karabiner Games has announced that Karaneko has reached a major milestone on Kickstarter. Within just 24 hours of launch, the project secured 80% of its funding goal, raising over $20,000. This marks a strong start for the team and its growing community of supporters. Inspired by beloved titles like Undertale and Deltarune, Karaneko combines heartfelt storytelling with an inventive bullet hell combat system. It promises to deliver a narrative centered on family, choice, and discovery.

The game follows the story of Karam, a young protagonist. He awakens in a mysterious new world and sets out to find his missing brother. The journey spans interconnected maps filled with secrets to uncover and characters whose fates intertwine with his own. Every decision made in conversations or battles carries meaningful consequences. It also influences both the relationships formed and the direction of the story. As Karam ventures deeper into this world, players gradually uncover the truth behind its mysteries through moments of connection, conflict, and reflection.
Combat in Karaneko introduces a fast-paced bullet hell twist to traditional turn-based systems, blending strategy with reflex-based challenges. Players can adjust the intensity and difficulty of encounters, allowing for a tailored experience that rewards both careful planning and quick reactions.
A free demo is available now on Steam, offering an early look at the game’s world and mechanics. To celebrate the campaign’s launch, the team has also announced a community giveaway featuring a Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart bundle as the grand prize. Along with Steam gift cards for ten additional winners. Hosted in collaboration with the Deltarune x Karaneko Discord, the event has already sparked fan art, theory discussions, and excitement around the project’s future.
