Guide the Flock in Sheepherds!
Ultimo Disco has announced that the Sheepherds! August Playtest will be extended for one more week, now running until August 25. The decision follows the game’s recent appearance at the Wholesome Games Celebration and Tiny Teams showcases, and the extension comes with fresh content for players to enjoy.
The latest update introduces two new maps along with a unique feature called Transhumance. This mechanic shifts the perspective, locking the camera in a forward-facing view as players guide their sheep along winding paths. The goal is to keep the flock moving smoothly while avoiding mishaps, adding an engaging twist to the herding experience.
Sheepherds! is designed as a lighthearted cooperative game that combines charm with accessibility. If you enjoy the teamwork of titles like Overcooked or PlateUp but prefer a more relaxed atmosphere, this cozy alternative might be a perfect fit. Players step into the role of playful sheepdogs, tasked with herding fluffy sheep and gathering colorful wool. The game encourages collaboration, letting friends team up, customize their dogs, and dive into vibrant, family-friendly fun.
The August Playtest has already proven popular, drawing more than 5,000 sign-ups. Across the trial, players have access to 12 maps and a wide selection of 15 dog breeds to choose from. Alongside the new Transhumance system, Ultimo Disco has also introduced fresh mechanics, such as leading sheep through swirling tides and using glowing flowers to reflect secondary colors onto the flock.
With its extended playtest, new features, and growing community, Sheepherds! is shaping up to be a cozy co-op adventure worth keeping an eye on.
