Join the Celebration With Boardwalk Builders
Studio Primitive and Liminal Pendulum have announced that their upcoming title, Boardwalk Builders, is joining the Back to School Games Celebration on Steam. The event, hosted by Mooncube Games, creators of Spirit City: Lofi Sessions, and the popular YouTube channel Lofi Girl, runs from August 25 through September 1. The celebration spotlights games with educational or productivity-focused elements. Many of them will feature demos and discounts during the weeklong showcase.
Boardwalk Builders reimagines the simulation genre by letting players design and expand their very own boardwalk. Players can place rides, booths, and food stands while managing the happiness of visitors to earn funds for expansion. Challenges add depth to the experience, as both natural disasters and rival corporations threaten to disrupt progress.
The developer also updated the demo recently with several notable additions. There is a new Fame Points system that allows players to unlock and upgrade parts of their boardwalk by earning points through creative building combinations. Structures now require upkeep, introducing building degradation and the option to hire a Maintenance Man to preserve appearances. Entertainers have also been added, allowing players to recruit and upgrade performers who roam the boardwalk to generate additional income.
In a special collaboration, Studio Primitive partnered with High Flying Studio, developers of Kittenship Care, to introduce a new Tier 2 building. By combining the right structures, players can unlock this whimsical addition, adding a touch of charm with its feline-inspired theme.
With its updated demo and unique blend of creativity and strategy, Boardwalk Builders is a key highlight of this year’s Back to School Games Celebration. Players can explore the demo and discover other featured titles throughout the event on Steam.
