Dune: Awakening Has Sold Over 1 Million Copies Worldwide

A Milestone for Dune: Awakening

Dune: Awakening officially launched on June 10, and in just days, over one million players have stepped onto the sands of Arrakis. This makes it Funcom’s fastest-selling game to date. It is an impressive milestone, especially when compared to Conan Exiles, which took an entire year to reach the same number.

Dune: Awakening

Dune: Awakening offers a persistent multiplayer survival experience set in the harsh climate of Arrakis, combining the tension of survival gameplay with the grandeur of Denis Villeneuve’s film adaptations and the deep lore of Herbert’s original novels.

Player activity has surged well beyond expectations, with peak concurrent players reaching over 189,000—more than triple the peak of Conan Exiles, which previously held the studio’s record at 54,403. Dune: Awakening continues Funcom’s journey into the survival genre, this time with a larger scale and a rich science fiction setting inspired by Frank Herbert’s universe.

While the game’s community lovingly refers to themselves as Sleepers, their in-game activity tells a different story. Since launch, players have been anything but inactive, constructing sprawling bases, narrowly avoiding death at the jaws of sandworms, making daring vehicle jumps, and facing down countless harsh challenges across the desert world.

Funcom is marking this early success and the player-driven stories with a celebratory infographic, showcasing the creativity, chaos, and courage on display since day one. From spectacular victories to heroic defeats, every moment on Arrakis adds to a shared, evolving saga. To celebrate this milestone, the team behind the game has released an infographic called Deeds and Deaths. Check it out right below.
