A Coming-Of-Age Story Awaits in Consume Me
The quirky and emotional coming-of-age RPG Consume Me is officially heading to Steam on September 25, 2025. Announced during Day of the Devs: Summer Game Fest Edition 2025, the game comes from a creative team that includes Jenny Jiao Hsia, AP Thomson, Jie En Lee, Violet W P, and Ken “coda” Snyder. Ahead of launch, a free demo will be available on Steam starting June 9 as part of Steam Next Fest.
Consume Me has already made waves in the indie scene, winning the prestigious Seumas McNally Grand Prize. It also won the Nuovo and Wings Awards at the 2025 Independent Games Festival.
Described by its creators as a game about how being a teenager sucks, Consume Me invites players to step into the shoes of Jenny, a high school senior navigating the pressures of love, self-image, academics, and an overwhelming to-do list. The gameplay mixes life simulation with puzzle and strategy elements, asking players to carefully manage time, emotions, and expectations.
Whether you’re chasing academic glory, juggling awkward crushes, or trying to stretch your allowance with chores, Consume Me presents a brutally honest, often funny, and strangely heartfelt portrayal of teen life. It questions what success looks like, what matters, and whether it is possible to do it all or even worth trying.
For those curious about its unconventional style and themes, the upcoming demo offers a taste of Jenny’s chaotic final year.
