Get Ready for Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2
Auroch Digital and Big Fan, a Devolver Digital publishing label, have officially announced Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2, the explosive sequel to the acclaimed retro-style FPS. Slated for release in 2026, the game marks the return of the iconic Space Marine Malum Caedo, continuing his brutal crusade across the galaxy to purge heretics and mutants alike.
Building on the fast-paced, nostalgic style of classic 90s shooters, Boltgun 2 promises intense, adrenaline-fueled combat. Players will wield an expanded arsenal of devastating weapons and abilities. They must battle through new, never-before-seen locations in the Warhammer 40,000 universe.
Fan-favourite enemies like Nurglings and Chaos Cultists are back as well. There are new terrifying threats too, such as the relentless Bloodletters and their monstrous Juggernauts. With more surprises yet to be revealed, the sequel is shaping up to be a major evolution of the original.
Alongside this announcement, Auroch Digital also revealed Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun Words of Vengeance at the Warhammer Skulls Showcase. This free-to-play spin-off turns the grimdark universe into a frantic first-person typing game, where players defeat enemies by rapidly typing Warhammer-themed words and phrases. It is a humorous reimagining of the Boltgun formula, available now on PC via Steam.
Whether you are in it for the pixelated carnage or a keyboard-powered showdown, the world of Boltgun just got a lot bigger and bloodier. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
