Split Fiction Is Coming to the Big Screen
Split Fiction has taken the gaming world by storm, becoming EA’s second-biggest game of all time on Steam in just two weeks. A studio is reportedly developing a movie for it, and Hollywood studios will most probably compete for the rights.
According to Variety, Hazelight Studios is once again collaborating with Story Kitchen. It is the same company that helped secure the movie deal for It Takes Two, which landed at Amazon MGM Studios. This time, they are preparing the pitch by assembling a cast, writers, and a director before bringing the project to potential buyers.
In the game, you step into the roles of Zoe and Mio, two young women who have never met until they suddenly find themselves trapped inside a world shaped by the sci-fi and fantasy stories they have written. To escape, they must navigate this unpredictable landscape, adapt to its challenges, and learn to trust each other. With creativity and teamwork, they will fight to survive and find a way back to reality.
Critics and players alike have embraced Split Fiction with lots of love. It is the first EA game in over a decade to earn a Metacritic score of 90 or above. Not only that, GameSpot awarded it a perfect 10 out of 10. Sales have been just as impressive, with two million copies sold already. With momentum on its side, Split Fiction is poised to be one of March’s biggest hits. And soon its story will expand beyond gaming onto the big screen.
