Gentoo Rescue is a challenging 2D puzzle game where you guide sliding penguins and walruses through tricky grids. The goal is to collect items that “change the rules,” opening up new stages full of unexpected discoveries and clever interactions. The puzzle tree starts simply, with one puzzle leading to the next, but as you progress, it grows into a complex web involving recursion and Metroidvania-style backtracking.
The developer carefully crafted the puzzles to deliver clever solutions and plenty of rewarding “aha” moments. They focus on simplicity, where the challenge lies in understanding the subtleties of the mechanics rather than dealing with overwhelming complexity.
