Defend Your Base in Final Outpost: Definitive Edition

The indie game studio Exabyte Games has released a free demo for their upcoming title, Final Outpost: Definitive Edition on Steam. Players can finally try out this base-builder colony sim set that takes place during a zombie apocalypse. The full game will be coming out on PC, Mac, Linux, Android, and iOS, so stay tuned for more updates in the future.

The demo highlights all the fresh features of the Definitive Edition. Explore the new trading system, try out the first two difficulty levels, and enjoy save checkpoints. Speed things up with 7.5x control, track your progress with leaderboards and a revamped scoring system, and notice updates to the UI and environments. There’s also cloud saving, controller and widescreen support, and a brand-new building to discover: the Radio Tower.

Players can explore the demo all the way up to the start of the first Winter. Along the way, a new scoring system adds a competitive edge, allowing everyone to challenge their friends. The goal is to build the most impressive Outpost possible before time runs out, making every decision count.

Final Outpost came out as a small hobby project in 2020. But it quickly gained momentum, reaching over 1 million downloads. With the launch of its Steam page on August 4th, the Definitive Edition has already drawn significant interest, accumulating more than 6,000 wishlists. The demo has also captured the attention of streamers, with notable coverage from Orbital Potato. His video on the game has been viewed over 90,000 times, standing out as one of the most popular single-game features on his channel. You can check it out right below.
