Developer Superstatic and publisher Ultimate Games are delighted to announce that Liberte is coming to PlayStation 5 on 29 November. This unique hack ‘n’ slash game takes inspiration from the 18th-century French Revolution and the work of H.P. Lovecraft.

The game combines fast-paced combat with a card system featuring over 100 skill and talent cards. And blends political intrigue with occult themes. You can play through an engaging single-player campaign or join friends in a local co-op for up to four players.

Liberte is an action-packed hack-and-slash game that combines elements of card games and roguelite adventures. Players explore richly detailed environments while engaging in intense combat, using both melee weapons and firearms. The developers at Superstatic Studio drew inspiration from H.P. Lovecraft’s eerie tales, David Cronenberg’s body horror films, and the dramatic events of the French Revolution.

In the game, you step into an alternate 18th-century Paris, a city in the grip of revolution. Amid the turmoil, a mysterious being called Lady Bliss arrives from another dimension, adding to the chaos. You play as Rene, tasked by Lady Bliss to choose a new leader from four rival factions battling for control. Along the way, you can also take on the roles of other characters, shaping the unfolding story.

It features a dynamic combat system that allows you to experiment with over 100 skill and talent cards, creating unique combinations to match your playstyle. Whether you prefer to take on challenges alone or join forces with friends, the game offers both single-player campaigns and local co-op modes for up to four players at once.
