Retro fans, grab your goggles and prepare for liftoff—Rocket Panda has arrived on the Sega Genesis and Mega Drive!
Developed by Space Pants Games and published in collaboration with Mega Cat Studios and Video Game Sage, this new 16-bit adventure sends players flying through sweets-themed worlds as a jetpack-powered panda. The goal? Save your badger buddies and defeat the evil Biscuit Head and his legion of foes.
With over 60 levels, Rocket Panda offers an experience full of action and sugary fun. Players will explore seven unique worlds, battling massive bosses and collecting biscuits to boost their score. The game offers more than just platforming fun—it’s packed with creative enemies like flying pigs, tanks, and UFOs. Plus, you’ll face off against unforgettable bosses, including a giant Teacup, Mega Toast, and a fire-breathing Dragon.
To celebrate the launch, Mega Cat Studios dropped a trailer (see above), showcasing the game’s panda hero and the worlds he’ll encounter. The game can be purchased directly from their online store, where collectors can choose from three special cartridge variants: the classic blue and red label, a panda-themed limited edition, and a collaborative VGS special edition.
Critics are raving about Rocket Panda. Sega-16 praises the game, giving it a 9/10 and saying, “The Genesis needs more pandas with jetpacks!” Meanwhile, Retro Faith calls it “an impressive game that raises the bar for other Mega Drive developers.”
