Developer Vixa Games and publisher Daedalic Entertainment have announced that their upcoming title, Edge of Sanity is launching on 13 September 2024. This unique horror survival game will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and Nintendo Switch. Edge of Sanity is a psychological survival horror game set in the wilds of Alaska. With hand-drawn 2D art and a chilling atmosphere inspired by the Cthulhu Mythos, it promises a terrifying adventure in a world where sanity is always on the edge.
In this cosmic and eerie story, you’ll meet Carter, an ordinary worker who slowly loses his sanity. With no other options, he becomes the leader of a group of survivors. Together, they explore and scavenge in a desperate struggle to stay alive, facing off against terrifying, unknown horrors. All the while recruiting more survivors. As you find more people, you’ll need more food and water, and you’ll face a higher risk of illness.
Every intense event while traveling across Alaska will leave a lasting mark on Carter’s mind. As he faces more challenges, his sanity starts to crack, leading to new behaviors. It will also change how he sees the world, unlocking new conversation choices, and even letting him create unique items.
To avoid nasty encounters with monsters, players should figure out their weaknesses, disrupt their senses, manage their resources, and use crafting and the environment to stay alive. If all else fails, you might have to fight with an axe, but be ready for a tough battle.
