Cairn: Mathair’s Curse is a Scottish story-driven turn-based JRPG. The story is about a boy and his mother and explores love, grief, and family ties. The game is based on Ross’s life experience with his family and loss. It is dedicated to his mother and grandmother. Even the fictional world of Albaness reflects growing up in the Scottish Highlands in the early 2000s. Not to mention, there is plenty of Scottish humor in the characters as well as the story.
