Nintendo Switch Online Expands Its Game Library for Halloween

Nintendo Switch Online’s New Additions Include Classic NES and Game Boy Titles

Nintendo Switch Online is treating its subscribers this Halloween with a trio of games, including two obscure NES gems and a Game Boy classic. These additions provide a nostalgic twist to the subscription service.

First on the list is “Devil World,” a title that dates back to 1984 and holds a special place in the hearts of Nintendo enthusiasts. Developed by gaming legends Shigeru Miyamoto, Takashi Tezuka, and Koji Kondo, this early NES creation makes its debut in the U.S., offering players a chance to experience it for the first time. In this intriguing puzzle adventure, players must navigate through challenging mazes while evading the devil’s cunning machinations. Notably, the demon from “Devil World” also appears as an Assist Trophy in “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.” In this devilish realm, the maze’s movement aligns with the devil’s pointing direction, potentially trapping players and forcing them to strategize their escape.

The second NES addition is “The Mysterious Murasame Castle,” a game hailing from 1986, immersing players in feudal Japan. As a formidable evil force seizes control of the Murasame Castle, you assume the role of a young samurai apprentice named Takamaru. Armed with a sword and shurikens, you must confront waves of adversaries in this action-packed adventure.

Lastly, “Castlevania Legends” for the Game Boy, released in 1998, invites players to step into the shoes of Sonia Belmont, set in a storyline that predates the events of the original “Castlevania” game. With this addition, you can embrace the legacy of the Belmont family and engage in the eternal battle against the forces of darkness.

It’s important to note that to access the expanded Nintendo Switch Online libraries, which include Nintendo 64, SEGA Genesis, and Game Boy Advance titles, a paid Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership is required. This subscription also grants access to additional content such as the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass, Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Happy Home Paradise, and Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion DLC, all included at no extra cost.
