Alone in the New Year
Crunch is a very dirty word in gaming. We hate to see people getting worked to the bone to meet a deadline or produce mediocre results. I’m talking about gamers in this case. There are so many games that have come out this year, we need more time. That is why Alone in the Dark is getting a delay.
THQ Nordic was planning to release their game this year in October. After all, it is the perfect month for spooky, frightful games. Humanity never thought this possible, but there are just too many good games. For that reason, the developers are pushing back the release of the Alone in the Dark re-remake.
The delay isn’t a small one either. The game is being pushed back into January. This is also a great opportunity to polish and get any kinks worked out.
Horror games thrive on the eerie embrace of solitude, something that is impossible to achieve in a gaming month as busy as October.
To ensure a breathtaking experience for everyone, we have made the decision to move the release of #AloneInTheDark to January 16, 2024. pic.twitter.com/W5EgV4aTZc

The timing of this could mean that AITD will be going up against a different group of games for popularity at release. Not that it’s a competition or anything. THQ Nordic is still planning on releasing Last Train Home and Tempest Rising sometime in 2023.
The new release date for Alone in the Dark is January 16th, 2024 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Are you thankful for the delay or is this one of your most anticipated titles? Let us know in the comments.
