Stronghold: Definitive Edition Digs In This November

Harder, Better, Faster, Stronghold

Developer Firefly Studios has been making games for the Stronghold series for over twenty years now. The original game was released in 2001 and an HD version was released in 2013. Last week, they revealed Stronghold: Definitive Edition, making its return later this year.

The Stronghold series has spawn nine different games since the early 2000s. In a sea of RTS games, Firefly Studios has managed to keep their franchise alive over the years. Stronghold: Definitive Edition has reworked the visuals and artwork, as well as added new content and quality of life improvements.

The original voice actors for the game are returning to rerecord their lines. The sprites are sharper, the 3D animation is smoother, and performance has improved during intense siege battles.

Stronghold: Definitive Edition has the original campaign, but also has a brand new campaign. The new single-player content includes The Jewel Campaign and Castle Trail. The Jewel Campaign has fourteen missions and Castle Trail has ten missions where players either attack or defend their castles.

Multiplayer was always tricky for the original Stronghold. The developers have now added a new multiplayer function that allows for online play through Steam. No hassle, loopholes, or walkthroughs needed.

Stronghold: Definitive Edition will be coming to PC on November 7th.
