Tears of the Kingdom Suggests Zelda and Link in a Relationship

I Can Be Your Hero Baby

Will they, won’t they? Whenever there is a classic game where a hero saves a princess, we ask ourselves the question of what comes after? Do they get married? Do they bang? The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a sequel to Breath of the Wild and we are learning about what becomes of Zelda and Link.

There are clues in the game about Link and Zelda’s undefined relationship. If you return to Hateno Village, where Link can purchase a house in Breath of the Wild, you can see who lives there now. It is now a home away from Hyrule Castle for Zelda.

The house has evidence that two people live there together. There are two chairs and place settings at the dinner table and there is a queen sized bed. Now, unless Zelda has abused her royal authority to remove Link from his home, it kind of sounds like they live together.

Patricia Summersett is the voice actress for Princess Zelda. She played her in Breath of the Wild, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, and Tears of the Kingdom. She recently did an interview with The Gamer answering several questions about her character and the new game.

When asked about the relationship between the Princess and her Hero, she was hesitant to really define what they were. However, she did say, “I know that [Link and Zelda] are in a relationship with each other, it’s active, there’s a lot of care and a lot of listening, and I just love that about it.” I bet Link is a really good listener.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now for Nintendo Switch.
