Liga BBVA MX Signs Exclusivity Agreement With Konami In eFootball
eFootball launched in 2021 as a free to play game as the Pro Evolution Soccer franchise was rebranded. Unfortunately, the launch was rocky, but Konami have promised to work on the title. Konami has officially announced an exclusivity agreement with Liga BBVA MX that will allow their fans to play online with the idols of their clubs in that league. The process of implementing the players, logos and more from the league into the game will start in Summer 2022.
The agreement will allow Konami to have access to players and stadiums from the Mexican League which can be used to recreate official uniforms. Thus, Mikel Arriola, Executive President of the league, stated, “We’re delighted in welcoming KONAMI to LIGA BBVA MX. They are a strategic partner which, with its broad experience through the years, has proven to share our philosophy and our passion for soccer.”
Furtehrmore, Yuta Kose, President of Konami Entertainment, was equally excited. He noted, “We’re proud to have LIGA BBVA MX as a partner and to have the opportunity to bring our fans in Mexico and in the United States closer to their favorite clubs through ‘eFootball'”.
Additionally, the new partnership signals a brighter future for eFootball as it allows both sides to benefit from future sponsorships, deals and exposure. Moreover, the deal will also contribute to a better eSports competition that will include amateur to professional players.
eFootball is currently available on various platforms including PC, Xbox, PlayStation and will be coming to mobile platforms later this year.
