Riot Games and Netflix Have Partnered To Release Arcane, An Upcoming Series
Riot Games released its debut title, League of Legends, in 2009 and the rest has literally been history. Since then, there’s been spin-off games based on the expansive universe and now, Riot Games and Netflix will be launching an animated series based on the franchise. Arcane will bring the League of Legends universe to television screens beginning in November.
Arcane is set to premiere on November 6th. The show will be available in China on Tencent Video and globally on Netflix shortly after the League of Legends World Finals. Arcane will have three acts, with three episodes in each act. The second act will release on November 13th and the final act is set to release on November 20th.
Arcane dives into the worlds of Piltover and Zaun. With the creation of Hextech, the balance of the cities are in jeopardy. The series features an exciting cast of voice actors and fans of League of Legends will see many heroes hitting the screens including Jinx, Vi, Jayce and Caitlyn. The show goes into the backstory of some of the characters and delivers cool animations along with great storytelling.
Nicolo Laurent, CEO of Riot Games, stated, “Players all over the world love League and its universe. Their passion is what inspires us to create expressions of Runeterra worthy of their fandom. The launch of Arcane is the beginning of the next chapter for Riot and we can’t wait for players to see what we have in store for them across games, entertainment, and sports.”
