You’re a Wizard Harry
The Harry Potter franchise dominated the 2000s and early 2010s. It still remains one of the most successful book/movie series ever and still has legions of diehard fans around the globe. The fanbase for Harry Potter is known for being home to some of the most dedicated fanatics in all of the entertainment industry so it should be no surprise that rumors of a Harry Potter RPG have nearly caused a few small wars to breakout just through sheer excitement. The details are still very hazy at this time, but if this does turn out to be true it has the potential to be an instant hit.
The alleged title of this RPG is Hogwarts: A Dark Legacy. Like most rumors that are on the internet, the origins can be traced back to Reddit. According to the “leaker” they work at Warner Bro Marketing and have insider information on this topic. The account goes on to say that you will play as a young student who has been enrolled into Hogwarts. From there you will be able to customize your character to your heart’s content. You will be able to select your outfit, which spells to use, and a certain playstyle that best suits the player. Harry Potter himself will not be front and center in this game as this title will supposedly take place years after the books and movies. This will give the player a new and original experience.
Harry Potter video games don’t really have the best history. While there have been very few attempts to try and bring the boy wizard into gaming, the ones that were pushed out the door were lackluster at best. But keep in mind that these games were released back in the era of rushed video game movie titles. This is a trend that died a long time ago and it would obviously be impossible to do nowadays. While all rumors should be viewed with a healthy amount of skepticism, it is not ridiculous to imagine a triple-a Harry Potter video game.
