Final Fantasy 7 Remake Exclusivity Ends in April 2021

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Exclusivity Will Expire One Year After PS4 Release

The Final Fantasy 7 Remake Exclusivity on PS4 has been moved to line with the new release date. The game is set to drop on April 10 this year. It will remain exclusive for one year after the launch. If you were looking to pick up the long-anticipated remake on another platform, you’ll have to hold out just a little longer.

The Final Fantasy 7 Remake Exclusivity expiration date update was revealed through a picture of the official box art on the Square Enix website. Exclusivity was initially set to expire on March 3, 2021, which coincided with the initial release date for the game. Final Fantasy fans without a PS4 will have to wait until April 10, 2021.

Square Enix announced their intent to delay the launch of Final Fantasy 7 Remake in January.

“We are making this tough decision in order to give ourselves a few extra weeks to apply final polish to the game and to deliver you with the best possible experience,” said Yoshinori Kitase, producer for Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Kitase also apologized to fans for the delay.

“I, on behalf of the whole team, want to apologize to everyone, as I know this means waiting for the game just a little bit longer.”

Final Fantasy 7 was first released in 1997 for the PS1. The game was incredibly popular and is often cited as the best game in the series.
