New Borderlands 2 DLC is Supposedly on the Way

Nobody’s Saying No

Borderlands 3 is just a few months away, but we might not have to wait that long for new Borderlands content. There are rumors that new Borderlands 2 DLC is on the way and that it will lead in to Borderlands 3. A lot can happen story-wise between major installments in a game series. Hell, there was apparently a whole game’s worth of story that took place between Borderlands 1 and 2. This rumor comes from a “trusted source” revealed by PlayStation Lifestyle. Apparently, it will come out in “just a few weeks” and be announced at E3.

New Borderlands 2 DLC

It is not unheard of for long gaps between DLC releases. Remember, Left 4 Dead got DLC that connected it to Left 4 Dead 2 even after the second game had been released. If this rumor is true, this will be a very bold return for Borderlands 2. It will be almost 7 full years after the original release of Borderlands 2 on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. According to this source, the DLC will be called “Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary”. It makes sense for this to be the final farewell to Borderlands 2. We know that the hub world in Borderlands 3 is called Sanctuary 3, so maybe we will see why exactly the Vault Hunters abandon the Sanctuary they fought so hard to protect.

Borderlands 2 is on a bunch of different platforms. It is on Xbox 360, PC, OS X, Linux, PS Vita, and PSVR, as well as Xbox One and PS4 in the Handsome Collection. The question is now which platform are getting this DLC? It would make sense for Xbox One, PS4, and PC, but what about the other versions? I think it is safe to say that the Vita version is off the table since support has stopped. Hopefully, this is all true. If it is then we will hear about it at E3.
