Marvel’s Avengers Is Going to Have Paid Skins
Marvel’s Avengers will have cosmetic microtransactions and no gameplay-altering microtransactions are planned, according to what two of the game’s developers told IGN recently.
“There will be custom outfits that you can purchase in microtransactions,” said Shaun Escayg, the game’s creative director at Crystal Dynamics.
Another Crystal Dynamics developer, lead combat designer Vincent Napoli, also said that there won’t be microtransactions that can affect gameplay. “There are other aesthetic ways to customize your player card and your player experience,” Napoli said, “but there is nothing that affects the gameplay.”
During the game’s reveal at Square Enix’s E3 2019 conference, Crystal Dynamics said that there wouldn’t be any lootboxes or pay-to-win microtransactions. However, that didn’t mean that cosmetic microtransactions (such as new costumes) wouldn’t be included.
