Square Enix Reveals New Japanese Mobile RPG Called Last Idea

Last Idea Will Be a “Treasure Hunting” RPG for Smartphones

Square Enix has revealed a new “treasure hunting” RPG coming to iOS and Android in Japan called Last Idea. A teaser trailer can be seen below alongside a rather vague Spring 2019 release date.

Story

The protagonist, a novice treasure hunter, heads by airship to the abandoned “Silent Castle” located on an isolated island in order to confirm signs of treasure sensed by diviner friend Rah Mel.

Upon arriving, the earth suddenly begins to shake and darkness spouts from the ground, instantly covering the sky, and hordes of monsters begin to attack Silent Castle.

The party tried to give up on the treasure and turn back, but upon seeing a girl about to be attacked by monsters on the castle’s balcony, they run to her rescue…

Last Idea was actually quietly announced on February 20th on the game’s official Twitter account. Since then, there has been much speculation as to what type of game it would be. It appears that today’s confirmation has put the conversation to bed.
