More Mad Box Info Will Be Revealed Later This Month
The CEO of the Project CARS studio, Slightly Mad Studios, announced a new console named the “Mad Box” on Wednesday and claimed that it was “the most powerful console ever built”.
“What is the Mad Box? It’s the most powerful console ever built… It’s literally ‘Mad’… You want 4k, you want VR at 60FPS? You want a full engine for free to develop your games on it? You have it,” tweeted the CEO, Ian Bell.
When asked by Polygon for more info about the Mad Box, Bell told the outlet that it would be compatible with Slightly Mad’s cross-platform Madness engine. This engine was used for both of the Project CARS games.
Bell also said that the “VR at 60FPS” aspect of the console would be “per eye”. “60 FPS per eye is hyper smooth with panning algorithms,” he explained to Polygon.
