Registration for Anthem’s Closed Alpha is Now Open

The Anthem Closed Alpha Kicks Off from December 8-9

EA has announced a closed alpha for BioWare’s Anthem, the upcoming shared-world multiplayer action RPG. Registration is open only until December 3rd, and the alpha will run from December 8th to the 9th.

The alpha — which will be available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC — is part of EA’s Community Playtesting program and is an opportunity for players to check out an early build of Anthem. There will be multiple sessions across the two days, and players can participate in one or all of them, but can only sign up to play on one platform. EA is making it clear that the closed alpha is “more limited than what we want to share in the pre-launch demos” and will be used to test out matchmaking, server load, etc.

Registration is now open until end-of-day December 3rd, but places are limited. In order to sign up, you’ll need to head to the EA Community Playtesting website and sign in with your EA Account. Once done, choose your desired platform and what sessions you want to be a part of. Signing up does not guarantee entry into the alpha as it is on a “first come first served” basis. If you’re selected, you’ll receive a confirmation on the Community Playtesting website and an email with instructions on how to download the Anthem Closed Alpha game client.

If sessions are full, players can still be put on a waitlist but, even then, nothing is guaranteed. The alpha is not tied to pre-orders, EA Access or Origin Access, so if you want to take part in it, you have to sign up for it. An Anthem pre-launch demo will be playable on February 1st for pre-orders.

Lastly, since the alpha is strictly confidential, streaming will not be allowed. This also means “no posting or sharing on social media or anywhere else.”
