Konami Denies There’s a P.T. Patch That Makes the Demo Unplayable

Konami Just Can’t Seem to Escape the Specter of P.T.

A Reddit post made last Friday alleged that a patch for P.T., the 2014 “playable teaser” for the cancelled horror game Silent Hills, caused the demo to become unplayable. However, Konami, the owner of the Silent Hill IP, has denied recently that such an update exists.

P.T.

“After our investigation we can confirm that there have been no Konami or PlayStation Network (PSN) update that would have affected or prevent access to the game,” Konami said in a statement to IGN.

Ever since P.T. got removed from the PlayStation Store after Silent Hills got cancelled in 2015, the demo has become something of a collector’s item for PS4 owners. It’s unknown how many PS4s in the world still have the demo but it is likely that the total number isn’t very high when compared to how many people own the console without having the demo.

It is still possible to download the demo onto your PS4 but it requires the use of a PC program known as “Squid”.
