Final Fantasy VII Remake Is Apparently Progressing Well

There Is Hope for the Final Fantasy VII Remake

Since the Final Fantasy VII Remake was announced back in 2015, fans have been eagerly awaiting news. Unfortunately, most of the information on the game’s development has been less than assuring. But despite moving development from third-party studio CyberConnect2 to in-house at Square Enix and job listings for “core members” that suggests a tumultuous creation process, the game’s director Tetsuya Nomura claims that things are going well.

In a recent interview with Famitsu, Nomura touched on mistaken information that suggested that the remake development wasn’t progressing and would begin after Kingdom Hearts 3.

“There’s been some misinformation regarding Final Fantasy VII Remake in some parts of the Internet so I wanted to touch up on that a little,” he said. “That [speculation] is not official. As I said during E3, development is going favourably. I just wanted to say that the current PR priority is Kingdom Hearts III […] but after that it’ll be Final Fantasy VII Remake, so please don’t worry.”

It appears that Nomura was previously speaking about PR activities and his comments were taken out of context.

As of now, the Final Fantasy VII Remake has no fixed release date.
