Final Fantasy VII Remake Is Apparently Progressing Well

There Is Hope for the Final Fantasy VII Remake

Since the Final Fantasy VII Remake was announced back in 2015, fans have been eagerly awaiting news. Unfortunately, most of the information on the gameโ€™s development has been less than assuring. But despite moving development from third-party studio CyberConnect2 to in-house at Square Enix and job listings for โ€œcore membersโ€ that suggests a tumultuous creation process, the gameโ€™s director Tetsuya Nomura claims that things are going well.

In a recent interview with Famitsu, Nomura touched on mistaken information that suggested that the remake development wasnโ€™t progressing and would begin after Kingdom Hearts 3.

โ€œThereโ€™s been some misinformation regarding Final Fantasy VII Remake in some parts of the Internet so I wanted to touch up on that a little,โ€ he said. โ€œThat [speculation] is not official. As I said during E3, development is going favourably. I just wanted to say that the current PR priority is Kingdom Hearts III [โ€ฆ] but after that itโ€™ll be Final Fantasy VII Remake, so please donโ€™t worry.โ€

It appears that Nomura was previously speaking about PR activities and his comments were taken out of context.

As of now, the Final Fantasy VII Remake has no fixed release date.
