How ‘Bout a Graphical Overhaul With Your Free Content?
Ubisoft is back at it (though they never really stopped) in their new For Honor expansion. Marching Fire, as it is called, features a graphical overhaul across all systems, minus the cost of performance. Which means, your console will seem more powerful than it is and the PC requirements won’t change. Developers have optimized their game alongside their implementation of new content.
The “Graphical Enhancements” showcase from the latest livestream shows how the game’s graphics have been updated. You’ll find more color, a better sky, improved map texture, and stark lighting. Again, this is all at no cost to performance. The graphical overhaul is free alongside some of the new game modes.
Ubisoft has introduced a new arcade-type experience called, quite predictably, Arcade Mode. As they describe it: “With infinite replayability, this quick-play mode will deliver a new battle every time with varying objectives, enemies, and modifiers.” All it needs is a procedurally-generated map and it’d qualify as a roguelike experience. Additionally, For Honor will gain a 4v4 Breach Mode where one team besieges the fortress of another.
Last but certainly not least, For Honor’s Marching Fire update brings the Wu Lin faction – Four new classes: Jiang Jun, Nuxia, Shaolin, and Tiandi, shall be added to the roster. The expansion is available for purchase and grants buyers immediate access to new characters, while everyone else must wait two weeks to unlock them using in-game currency.
Marching Fire launches for PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on October 16, 2018. As is usually the case with Ubisoft content, you can pre-order the expansion to receive a few bonuses.
