The Elder Scrolls 6 Isnโt Coming Anytime Soon
Fans have been waiting for more information on The Elder Scrolls VI after Bethesda officially announced the game at E3 2018. But according to Bethesda marketing boss Pete Hines and ZeniMax Online Studios game director Matt Firor, the game might not be released until the next console generation.
โThe easiest thing is look at how it was announced; it was Starfield and then [Elder Scrolls 6],โ Firor said. โYou can go back and count the years between Bethesda Game Studios releases, and youโll get the idea that [The Elder Scrolls 6 is] not coming anytime soon.โ
โI donโt even know what the world is going to be like when it comes out; there will be a different console generation by then, Iโm sure,โ he added. โWho knows. But I know weโre free and clear for a long time.โ
Hines said that The Elder Scrolls VI is going to beโbigโ and โambitious,โ although he avoided getting into specifics. In fact, he stressed that the announcement was mainly to show fans that they handโ forgotten about The Elder Scrolls.
โ[The Elder Scrolls VI] is big and itโs ambitious, but also โฆ the most important thing to underscore is that the timeline between products that you get from BGS is not any different than it has been historically just because weโve talked about two games after Fallout 76,โ he said. โI try really hard to manage peopleโs expectations. Itโs not like โFallout 76 this year, Starfield next year, and then TES6 the year after.โ The timeline isnโt any different. Whatโs different is just trying to be transparent and say, โDonโt freak out, the next thing weโre doing is single-player [in Starfield], [and] we are making TES6.โ
