Sony’s PlayStation Classic Launches This December

The Mini Console Comes Pre-Loaded With PS1 Classics

Sony officially revealed the PlayStation Classic, a miniaturized PS1, on Tuesday. It will launch on December 3rd with 20 pre-loaded PS1 games and will cost $99.99.

The PlayStation Classic is 45% smaller than the original PS1 and the pre-loaded games that come with it “will be playable in their original format.” Also, each unit will come with both an HDMI & USB cable along with two controllers for local multiplayer games. However, the mini-console doesn’t come with an AC adapter.

The full list of pre-loaded games currently isn’t known but Sony did say that several of the games were classics such as “Final Fantasy VII, Jumping Flash, Ridge Racer Type 4, Tekken 3, and Wild Arms.” Sony also said that more titles for PlayStation Classic will be revealed later.

Earlier this year, Sony had expressed interest in a Nintendo Classic-style console but gave no indication that one would be on its way in 2018.
