Nintendo Runs California Pokemon: Let’s Go Event

Los Angeles Residents Are Enjoying Pokemon: Let’s Go

Ninendo kicked off a Pokemon: Let’s Go event that they previously advertised on their Twitter account. The event runs in Santa Monica until 6 PM PST and a few photos have been released thus far.

The event photos portray food, gameplay, and community mingling, as well as extra touches like a giant Pokeball and life-sized Pikachu and Eevee costumes. Nintendo hasn’t made it clear if there are additional stops part of the event or if it’s a Los Angeles exclusive, but it would definitely be a good idea.

It’s not the first time that demos of the game have been made public. Other events, such as PAX West and the 2018 Pokemon World Championships, gave fans a chance to get their hands on it and created positive reception. In particular, fans praised the Pokeball mechanics that are used in real-life to catch creatures.

Pokemon: Let’s Go director Junichi Masuda recently spoke about the games and how their concept was developed.

“With the success of Pokemon GO, the Pokemon franchise’s impact on people has increased greatly on a global scale. However, despite the fact that Pokemon GO events bring in a lot of trainers, not all of those people experience the rest of the Pokemon series. On the other hand, players who have enjoyed the mainline Pokemon games up until now may not necessarily be playing Pokemon GO. So, naturally, the driving force behind the development of Let’s Go, Pikachu and Let’s Go, Eevee was bringing those two groups of people together in some way. Our approach could be best summarized by saying that our goal was to make “a Pokemon game for everyone!”

Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! will release for the Nintendo Switch on November 16th.
