The Open-World Tactical Shooter Also Has a New Update
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands will be free-to-play on PC, PS4, & Xbox One from September 20th to the 23rd, Ubisoft announced on Tuesday. The full base game will be available along with the Ghost War PvP mode and unique PvE missions.
There’s also a new update for the game that launched on Tuesday. Here are the details, per a press release:
“Named Operations & Maintenance, [Title Update 16] will improve the overall quality of life of the game and include an update to the Year 2 Season Pass, offering a new item pack for Year 2 Pass owners with each future title update. This free update will also introduce a new Mood Matchmaking feature, which will allow players to further customize their co-op experience with ‘mood’ preferences and options in public matchmaking for PvE in both the main game and Ghost Mode, helping players find and join other Ghosts ready to take on the same objectives.”

“Ghost Recon Wildlands is a game that is hurt by its own ambition. Its blend of genres results in a game that tries to do everything, yet excels at nothing,” our reviewer wrote. “The sheer scope of the world makes it impossible to be filled with interesting details, and Ubisoft manages to make the entire country of Bolivia feel boring. Nothing fits together as well as it should, and it all results in one very disappointing package.”
