At the end of this month, Divinity: Original Sin 2 will launch on consoles, which is why Bandai Namco has brought a taste of gameplay to come. Divinity: Original Sin 2 has been characterized by the element of player choice. There are many ways to interact with the world and many solutions to quests, and the same will be true of console versions. The primary difference is that consoles will launch with more content than before. But, let’s start with the basics. The trailer below grants a deep look at the world, gameplay mechanics, and character relationships; all this in addition to some multiplayer action.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 can be played in Hot Seat Mode, which allows players to switch controllers. In addition, the online Arena Mode introduces 16 new characters with new skills and abilities. Last but not least, consoles shall receive the all-new split-screen co-op mode. This is what’s new in regards to multiplayer; more content awaits in solo play.

One specific example of new DLC content is companion Sir Lora, who will be available at launch. According to a press release, “The DLC features brand new squirrel companion, Sir Lora, who requests your help from the Knights of Drey, an order of furry knights who believe in the coming of the Great Acorn. By recruiting this runaway squirrel, players will unlock skill-crafting recipes and most importantly, they will get the opportunity to dive deeper into the mysteries surrounding the Great Acorn!”

Divinity: Original Sin 2 was developed by Larian Studios and is the winner of multiple awards, including the British Academy of Film and Television Arts award (BAFTA). Does this sound like an RPG worthy of your library space? If you have yet to experience the game in any fashion, do feel free to check out our PC review.
