Bethesda’s Fallout 76 Beta Plans Have Caused Some Confusion
The public beta for Bethesda’s upcoming Fallout 76 has caused some confusion amongst fans. Although the initial announcement stated that anyone who pre-orders the game will get into the beta, a recent update said that player “selection” for the beta will start in October.
Pete Hines later said that there might be a smaller beta before the full beta goes live, and for this period players will be selected randomly from the larger pool of players selected for the full beta. Hines also took took Twitter to confirm that “everyone” will get into the game’s full beta, from “start to finish,” and that the “random selection” is only for anything the developer decides to do prior to the full beta launch.
Everyone gets into the full BETA for their platform. Start to finish.

Don’t understand this one. Where in their promos did it say that everyone will get in at the same time?

If you’re in the BETA, you’re in the BETA. If we do things before the BETA, you could get randomly selected to help with that too. But nobody gets shortchanged on access to the BETA. I have confirmed with him what I just said is accurate.

No, we were trying to let folks know about something that might happen in addition to BETA. Instead it came off as possibly limited access to BETA, which was never our intention. I’m not really into gimmicks.

We haven’t said. Yes, closer to the date we’ll tell you for your platform the date (and time) it starts and ends. So you’ll know beforehand how long it runs.
