Two Great Games From This Generation and the Last Are Now Free
We have reached the middle of May, which means the Xbox Games with Gold service is switching gears. Every month, Microsoft offers free games for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 to loyal subscribers. As of today, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and Streets of Rage are no longer available. But, you have two more acclaimed titles to look forward to.
If you’re on the Xbox 360, you can pick up Vanquish, the sci-fi shooter from Platinum Games. Imagine an overabundance of high-octane action as you take down mechs, robotic beasts, and crazy bosses in an industrial world. Imagine the opportunity to do so while in slow-mo or superspeed. Like all Xbox 360 games in Deals with Gold, Vanquish is available on the Xbox One via Backward Compatibility.
Then we have Hideo Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, arriving for the Xbox One. Set in the backdrop of the historical Cold War, MGSV puts players in the boots of Venom Snake, aka “Big Boss.” As you undertake stealth missions with all the weapons, gadgets, and explosives you can carry, you unravel the secrets of the attack on Mother Base as seen in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. In addition, as the leader of the Diamond Dogs, you’re responsibilities involve building up a new Mother Base where mercenaries can prosper.
You have until the end of May to download Metal Gear Solid V and Vanquish. An Xbox Live Gold subscription is required for access to these titles. However, so far as Xbox 360 games, like Vanquish, are concerned, you do not need an active subscription once the game is downloaded. This does not apply to Xbox One titles.
