Square Enix Will Likely Announce Newly Trademarked ‘Outriders’at E3 2018
Just a few days ago we told you that the developer behind Bulletstorm, People Can Fly, have announced their partnership with Square Enix to create a brand new AAA shooter. Square Enix has recently filed a trademark application in Europe under the computer software and entertainment services category called ‘Outriders’. This comes just over three weeks ahead of E3, so it seems Square Enix may be planning a big reveal. As such there is certainly a lot of speculation about what this ‘Outriders’ could be.
While it’s not yet known what ‘Outriders’ is, and Square Enix hasn’t confirmed it’s appearance at E3, it seems likely this is the case. During their E3 2018 showcase, which takes place on June 11th at 10 AM PST/ 1 PM EST, Square Enix is already set to show off a variety of titles. These include Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Kingdom Hearts III and the upcoming DLC for Final Fantasy XV. We’ll just have to wait and see if the publisher will announce any sort of official announcement ahead of E3.
So what are fans thinking this ‘Outriders’ will be? It seems there are two possibilities here: the recently announced AAA shooter from developer People Can Fly or the Avengers Project that was revealed early last year. At this time there are no further details about the project that Project Can Fly is working on, while we do know that Square Enix and Marvel have partnered up to develop several titles, the first which is set in the Avengers universe. As such it will be interesting to see which of these projects ‘Outriders’ is.
Which of the two projects do you think is the most plausible for a big E3 reveal? Is there anything else you’re hoping to see from Square Enix this year? Let us know in the comments below and keep it locked for updates!
