Expect Some Downtime From Nintendo Servers
Nintendo has planned a series of updates across their systems, curiously. Therefore, players should brace themselves for changes across the Nintendo Switch and 3DS. It seems as if players will be unable to access online features during these intervals.

Quite notoriously, Nintendo foregoes specifics when it comes to system changes for hardware and software.
