Destiny 2’s Fall Expansion Will Introduce New Game Mode to FPS
In just a few short days the second DLC expansion for Destiny 2 will drop but what can fans expect from Bungie in the future? Earlier today, during their quarterly financial conference call for investors and analysts alike, Activision announced something big, something brand new to the FPS genre, was on the distant horizon for the popular shooter.
Activision has already mentioned that the game will be getting a fall expansion, however they elaborated today saying the intent of this content is to “make players more powerful, provide more rewards and make the end game more meaningful.” But apparently this is just the beginning as Destiny 2 will also be receiving a game-changing feature, something that’s apparently never been done in first-person shooters before!
Coddy Johnson, COO of Activision explained that fans will get an “incredibly engaging” experience with this new mode as it introduces a “whole new style of play” for the genre. He also expressed that both Bungie and Activision were excited about the “really exciting development” for the latest game in the series. With that said, he wouldn’t elaborate on exactly what this mysterious game mode was.
But don’t fret, as Activision confirmed the wait for this new and exciting game mode to be unveiled is just weeks away, as they are planning a huge first look at this years E3! Considering all of the information they have set to release about Black Ops 4, and the Spyro: Reignited Trilogy, the showcase will likely be pretty spectacular.
Some have already started speculating that this new mode would be Battle Royale related, considering just how massive the genre itself has become with Fortnite and PUBG respectively. While it’s true this would be a new addition to the FPS realm, there are rumors that Black Ops 4 will have this very same mode, so who really knows what to expect until we hear it from Activision at E3.
