Itโs Great For Giving Away Your Position, You Know
Thereโs still one or two features that arenโt common to both versions of PUBG. Specifically, the Xbox One version of the game still doesnโt have proximity chat. Which is a shame, really. How else are inexperienced players supposed to give their position away?
The feature isnโt a high priority for the console team, though itโs still in consideration. Nico Bihary mentioned as much on Twitter, pointing out that thereโs a lot of work involved in bringing the feature to console. Thatโs not to say that itโs never happening, just that it might not happen for a while. At the very least, theyโve acknowledged it as something console players are looking for.
Beyond the featureโs tactical advantages, proximity chat opens up the game to some fascinating player interactions. I mean, Sea of Thieves uses it with great success, and so does Friday the 13th. While it might be some time before the feature gets to consoles, PC players can already immediately turn it off. You know, so they donโt accidentally talk at the wrong time and get themselves killed. PUBG is currently available on both the PC and the Xbox One.
