Developer Confirms Extra Content for Yooka-Laylee Is On the Way
It’s a little hard to believe but Yooka-Laylee is already a year old and developer Playtonic Games is ready to celebrate by hinting at the platformer’s future and a special giveaway for fans.
In a blog post dated April 11th (yeah, we’re a little late on this one), Playtonic makes mention about new Yooka-Laylee content in the works while also teasing something else from the company.
“Yes, hands up, we’ve been a bit quiet for a while,” the post reads. “But we promise it’s because we’ve been far too busy working on covert goodness, and not because we’ve been down the pub for 4 months. Soon we’ll start talking more actively, both about extra content for Yooka-Laylee, plus… other stuff. Shhh!”
The post doesn’t give any more details as to what the extra content could be. Could it be additional worlds? New playable characters, maybe? Will it be free content or will it be paid DLC? We’re just speculating of course, but feel free to join in by leaving a comment below.
To celebrate the game’s first birthday, Playtonic is giving fans the chance to win one of five “ultra-exclusive character parade posters” signed by the team. Fans can check out the studio’s Twitter page for more details on how to enter.
Yooka-Laylee is available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The Switch version arrived later than the others in December 2017 and is the only one that didn’t receive a physical edition. Could this be one of Playtonic’s “other stuff” surprises?
What do you make of all this?
