Warmind Will Kickoff Season Three of Destiny 2
Bungie has announced the next big expansion for Destiny 2. It’s called Warmind and it will release on May 8th, coinciding with the launch of Season Three.
The announcement was made on Bungie’s website where they revealed Destiny 2’s Development Roadmap which spans the entire summer and beyond. According to the post, Warmind will “send you to new places to meet new heroes and battle new enemies. You’ll earn new loot and master new activities.” While that may sound like a standard description of your typical Destiny expansion, Bungie has said that a reveal stream on April 24th will detail more of what players can expect out of Warmind.
The Development Roadmap — which can be seen below — breaks down what’s in store for the game throughout the summer. Season Three will bring about fan-requested features like Increased Vault Space, Exotic Weapon Sandbox Changes, and a New Seasonal Event. Come September (Season Four), players can anticipate Weapon Slot Changes and Weapon Randomization.
Bungie also announced that all of the new Crucible Maps being developed for Warmind will now be available for all Destiny 2 players. This also extends to the maps released with Curse of Osiris, the first expansion.
As seen in the roadmap, Bungie recently deployed the “Go Fast” update which drastically sped up the game and made various weapon and gameplay changes.
Since it’s launch last September, Destiny 2 has seen its player base drop considerably when compared to the original game due to a number of decisions that didn’t sit well with players. Judging from the roadmap image, Bungie seems to be on track to make things right.
