See How Each Version of Zone of the Enders 2 Stacks Up
Konami has announced that will release the remastered Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner — Mars on September 18th on PS4, PS VR, and PC via Steam. The original release date was scheduled for this Spring.
The last time we heard anything about the remaster was during last years’ Tokyo Game Show where the game was announced. An all-new trailer has been released, which features a side-by-side comparison of the upcoming 2018 remaster with the PS2 original from 2003 and 2012’s Zone of the Enders HD Collection on PS3 and Xbox 360. It was confirmed at TGS that the new version will add support for 4K on PS4 Pro and a first-person VR mode.
The remaster looks to be coming along quite nicely. The comparison video does a great job in showing the visual upgrades fans can expect when it launches in September. On a side note, it’s also impressive seeing just how well the original version manages to hold up too. It’s definitely jaggier than the other versions but it doesn’t look half bad, which is a testament to its excellent art design.
Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner, which was directed by Shuyo Murata and produced by Hideo Kojima, was a big hit when it launched on the PS2. It delivered a bigger and better sequel to the first game by expanding and refining the series’ third-person hack-and-slash action.
