Get Ready for Some Violent Delights
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced that its Westworld mobile game, based on the popular HBO TV series, is now open for pre-registration. The game, simply called Westworld, is produced by WB Games San Francisco in collaboration with Kilter Films. It is being developed by Canadian studio Behaviour Interactive and is slated for a 2018 release on iOS and Android.
According to a statement, the teams are working closely with the TV show’s writers and producers to develop a game that feels right at home in the twisted world of Westworld. While that may be true, it’s a bit difficult to stomach when looking at the game’s Family Guy-esque cartoon aesthetic.
The game will allow players to assume the role of a new Delos Trainee who gains access to the parks’ Training Simulations. That means players will have full control over operations of the park, including the manufacturing and care of the parks’ many AI hosts and guest requests.
“This game is an opportunity to give mobile gamers a fresh and exciting way to interact with the engrossing themes and enigmatic narrative explored by the Westworld series,” said Jonathan Knight, Vice President and Studio Head at WB Games San Francisco. “We can’t wait for fans to get their hands on the game to develop their own unique strategy to orchestrate and explore the perfect park experience.”
Rewards and “exciting incentives” will be given to players at launch who pre-register. You can do that on the official website.
The second season of the TV show will debut in April on HBO.
