The Thin Silence Is a New Side-Scroller That Understands Depression

A New Adventure Game That Inspires Quiet Contemplation

The Thin Silence is a new, first project from indie developer Two PM Studio. It is an emotional adventure that combines introspection and a variety of game mechanics to make players engage the way few games do.

Inspired by games like Limbo and Knytt, The Thin Silence offers a side-scrolling experience that facilitates introspection. You follow the story of Ezra Westmark, the disgraced protagonist, in his adventure to escape the darkness. Unique items are scattered around the world, but they can be combined in order to navigate the various puzzles. Along the way, expect a collection of maps and environments that combine to form a sense of modern and macabre.

The Thin Silence is very much a mirror to the depression and anxiety people can face, and it was written based on the experience one individual. By no means is this some riveting adventure designed to check your action box of desire. This is a softspoken experience for those quiet moments in which you feel like exercising your mind. And here’s what you can look forward to:

  • Enjoy 5 hours of unique and varied challenges driven by a fresh item-vs-environment interaction mechanic.
  • Experience breathtaking vistas and quiet contemplation.
  • Featuring a moving original score by LightFrequency.
  • Over 40 unique in-game documents.
  • Mostly believable hacking sequences.

The Thin Silence is hitting Early Access for Steam, Itch, and Humble on April 27, 2018. It will be available on PC and Mac.
