There’s Also a New Home Screen Icon for Switch Owners!
The cutesy physics platformer, Snake Pass, has been updated to version 1.4 where it adds an all-new new Arcade Mode, while also fixing the Switch version’s horrendous home screen icon.
The free update is slithering out on March 27th, that’s today by the way, for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Arcade Mode is all about eating as much fruit as possible before the timer runs out. The more fruit you eat, the higher your score multiplier becomes. Your score is then uploaded to the online leaderboards and shared for everyone to see.
Arcade Mode is accessible for all of the game’s 15 levels. You’re going to have to make sure you’ve unlocked them all first in the main campaign before trying the new mode out. This is the second bonus mode to be added to Snake Pass. The first was a Time Trial mode where players had to finish the level as quickly as they can. Their finished time was also uploaded to the game’s online leaderboards.
Additionally, the new update also changes the Switch’s home screen icon back to its original launch version. This should come as a relief for Switch gamers as the current icon has been vocally despised for a long time. It truly did stick out like a sore thumb when compared to other titles on the home screen.
The game is also discounted by 50% on every platform between now and April 10th, so now would be an excellent time to pick up this surprisingly charming little platformer.
