Get Ready to Go Fast When They Release in June
SEGA and Puma are teaming up to produce a pair of limited edition Sonic-themed footwear. Before you get too excited, they do not look anything like Sonic’s iconic red shoes.
The collaboration is named Puma x SEGA RS-0 Sonic, because who likes simple names for their running shoes anyway? The announcement trailer can be viewed below:
“For over 25 years, Sonic has strived to be forever faster,” the trailer explains. “In 2018, he’s hitting top speed and so is his style.” There’s a picture of a shoe at the end, but it’s intentionally blurry and pixelated for whatever reason. We can only assume that a full reveal is coming down the line. From what we can make out, the shoe is mostly blue, with red soles, and a bit of yellow and green for good measure. We aren’t exactly sure why it’s left a mystery, but we’re already digging the style of these shoes.
The Puma RS series has been around since the 1980’s and is making its return with this new collaboration. Apparently, the RS in the title stands for “Running Series.”
The shoes are due out in June 2018. It isn’t clear if these will be sold in stores or via Puma’s online website.
