Super Meat Boy Cleaning Up So Far On Switch

Team Meat Pretty Impressed With Day One Sales

Super Meat Boy has been around for almost a decade. The game has come out on a slew of different consoles, to the point where itโ€™s a little weird if youโ€™ve never played it before. This makes the day-one sales on the Nintendo Switch all the more impressive.

According to Team Meat, the Switch version of their flagship title came โ€œshockingly closeโ€ to the sales figures from its debut on the Xbox 360 back in 2010. Keep in mind, that first launch came with a $5 discount, which adds an extra layer of achievement to these day-one sales. This shouldnโ€™t come as a shock to anyone who has played Super Meat Boy, but still.

This is just the latest in a long line of indie games kicking major ass on the Nintendo Switch. Meat Boy in particular is a perfect fit for a portable system, as the gameplay is already broken down into very bite-sized chunks. Given how well the game is selling already, one expects that the upcoming physical release will be even more of a boon for Team Meat. If youโ€™re one of the lucky few who have never experienced this game, itโ€™s available right now on the Nintendo Switch eShop.
