Yes, It Still Looks Amazing
If you haven’t played Dead Cells, that badass metroidvania from last year, there’s still hope! Motion Twin has announced that the game is coming to consoles later this year, giving anyone who missed out a chance to see this game in action.
Dead Cells is a hardcore roguelite with that spicy hint of upgrades, exploration and backtracking that can’t be beat. This particular mashup of industry buzzwords stands out from the pack through fast-paced combat, smooth animations and well-crafted pixel graphics. The roguelite label means there’s a bit more permadeath at work here than other titles in the genre, but these are the kinds of extra challenges that only encourage better performance. Right?
Unfortunately, there’s no set release date for any of these console versions. Dead Cells is still in early access on Steam and GOG, so we’ll probably get a date for the console versions once we know when the final build of the game is coming out. Until such time, feel free to check out the announcement trailer below. Hot damn that animation is butter-smooth.
